Team GB - Canoeing

There are two disciplines of canoeing in the Olympics - canoe sprint & canoe slalom. Canoe sprint is a head-to-head race conducted on still water, whilst the canoe slalom is sees athletes compete in timed trials down a white water course.

Canoeing, along with kayaking, were first included as Olympic sports in the 1936 Berlin Summer games, and were opened up to the inclusion of women 12 years later at the 1948 London Summer games.
