Boxing is one of the most illustrious sports in the Olympic games, not to mention it's embedded deep into Olympic history. Recognition & Acceptance of Boxing as an Olympic sport can be traced back to the Ancient Greeks in 688BC.
Modern boxing was introduced an an Olympic Sport in 1904 at St Louis, before being cancelled in 1912 for the Stockholm games as Sweden had banned the sport. Following WW1 in the 1920 Antwerp Games, boxing was re-introduced as an Olympic sport and has remained in the Olympics since.
